Studies - how does it work? The education system in England differs significantly from the one known in Polish schools or universities. The academic year is divided into two semesters and in each semester students follow 4 modules or courses. The minimum class contact time is 12 hours per week but it is also essential that students work on their own doing "directed learning" of between 12-28 hours per week. Students' work is continuously assessed through a variety of tasks including group work, project work, presentation skills and problem-solving activities. In order to make learning easier, University students can hire notebooks, use wireless Internet access in all campuses. Students can also travel free on shuttle buses between the four campuses.
Thanks to a multimillion pound investment programme in equipment, the University of Wolverhampton has very high-standard learning facilities. Students can appreciate it during the very first month of their studies as they get sight of the way of working in the Learning Centres – ultramodern libraries , some of which are even open round the clock! Attention! Postgraduate studies in most specializations last only 1 year! If you want to improve your English before you take up your studies you can go to Wolverhampton for one year or one semester and choose a preparatory English course such as EPPA - English Plus Preparatory Award. Students have three modes of studying: |
